The Doorway into Psalms

“Blessed is the one…whose delight is in the law of the Lord” Psalm 1:1-2

Over the next 6 weeks we will be journeying through the book of Psalms. Now you might be asking, what does the word “psalms” even mean. It’s kind of a strange word, right? Well, it simply means “songs.” And this collection of songs was the hymnbook used in ancient Israel. But this book has not only been used for public worship, but also has been used by countless believers through the ages for private devotions to God because of its rich theology and how it touches on so many emotions we face in our life.

We're looking at Psalm 1, which has often been called the doorway into the rest of the psalms because it introduces so many of the major themes found in the rest of the book.
