‘But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33
If you don’t find a new way to see PEOPLE and a new way to look at THINGS, I’m pretty sure you’ll always struggle with knowing God, and hearing from Him.
Too much of my life I’ve found my identity through the STUFF I call mine. Too much of my life, my hands have been so weighed down by THINGS that I couldn’t lift them in surrender to God. I’ve realized as I look back a stronghold in my life that would rather safeguard my comfort through earning, owning, and debt rather than trust God for whatever the future might hold.
This Sunday I’d like us to listen for God’s voice around these questions:
1. How much of your personal worth is tied up in your STUFF?
2. Have you allowed your earning power/debt ceiling to insulate you from needing God?
3. What are you holding onto that keeps you from reaching out to God?
