Matthew 21-27
Mark 11-15
Luke 19:27 - 23
John 11:12-19
A significant chunk of the gospels is devoted to the events that occurred in the one week between Palm Sunday (when Jesus arrived in Jerusalem) and His resurrection. This week wasn’t just important 2000 years ago, but most historians would agree that the events that transpired have resulted in a more profound impact on human history than any other in the history of the world. These scriptures chronicle that week, which is why it’s important to read and re-read them every year. We encourage you to read the chapters in Matthew, Mark and Luke first because John wrote his account last, and likely had read Matthew, Mark and Luke’s accounts and was able to add additional details he deemed necessary having already seen the emergence of the early church. Please join us in making the reading of these Scriptures a part of your routine this week as we prepare our hearts for Easter Sunday.
Thursday- The Servant King
The Last Supper (Mark 14 & John 13-14)
Friday- A Dark Night in the Garden
The Garden of Gethsemane (Luke 22, Mark 14, John 18)
Saturday- The Sun Stops Shining
The Crucifixion (Matthew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, John 19)
Sunday- God's Wonderful Surprise
The Resurrection (Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, John 20)
